Collinsville High School was awarded $2,000 in the Powerade Power Your School contest.
The CHS Athletic Program partnered with the school’s Video Production students to produce a short video featuring CHS athletes talking about Kahok athletic traditions and attitudes.
Each year, the Powerade contest gives away $1,000,000 to help high schools across America. Schools enter the contest with an essay or video. Powerade selects 500 schools (a specific number per state) and gives each school $2,000.
Athletic Director Darin Lee contacted Tomahawk Studios teacher Jeri Arnold about the contest and the two departments collaborated on the winning entry: “Together We Can Power Through.” The award presentation on March 1, 2018 at CHS was coordinated by the local St. Louis Coco-Cola distributor.
The Kahok Athletic Department and Tomahawk Studios will split the prize money.
