Collinsville High School is pleased to announce a record number of students on the Honor Roll for the first semester of the 2015-2016 school year. The Honor Roll recognizes students for high scholastic achievement.
The school has released the names of 705 students who are on the Honor Roll for the first half of the school year. To be named to the honor roll, a student must achieve a 3.4 grade point average or above. (A=4.0) In addition, 129 students received straight A’s.
Kyle Gordon, CHS teacher who compiles the honor roll statistics, said, åÒThis is the highest number of kids on the Honor Roll since I have been doing this over the past ten years. This is also the highest number of straight A students during the same time span.åÓ Gordon is the sponsor of the CHS Student Council. StuCo recognizes honor roll students and their families each year with the gift of special bumper stickers and t-shirts.
Principal David Snider added, Collinsville High School is proud to recognize these high achieving and committed students. It is great to see a significant number of our students striving to do their best work at CHS under the direction of our caring and talented faculty. These students are establishing an excellent foundation for their future academic endeavors.
Collinsville High School provides academic opportunities including college preparatory work, vocational courses and many diverse electives.
