Collinsville High School is accepting donations of gently used prom dresses for a project to help make prom more affordable. The dresses will be “sold” for a $5 donation during a special CHS “Prom Dress Boutique” on March 4 from noon until 5:00 p.m.
Donated dresses and nice shoes, as well as never used jewelry and makeup samples, can be dropped off at CHS to the attention of teacher Caitlin Pinney (Room 311). DONATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED THROUGH THE END OF FEBRUARY.
The dresses should be in GOOD condition–no stains, broken zippers/straps, obvious damage or odors.
“You could be the reason someone gets to attend prom,” says Pinney. “Your donation may not seem like much, but it actually makes a huge difference.”
Students who donate dresses receive the chance to win a prom ticket. Students who choose a dress from the Boutique can enter a raffle to win complimentary hair styling for the prom.
The Prom Dress Boutique will be held in the Auxiliary Gym at CHS.
