Collinsville Charities for Children hosted their 2019 annual event to distribute shoes to students in Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Jack Schmitt Ford in Collinsville.
Over 150 students received shoes and socks purchased by Collinsville Charities for Children. This year, the charity partnered with with the Shoe Carnival store in Edwardsville to provide a selection of shoes for the children.
Santa Claus, thanks to Jared Michael Viviano, was on hand to greet everyone and listen to Christmas wishes. Every child left with shoes, socks and a candy cane treat. Each also received a personal photo with Santa.
Collinsville Charities for Children exists for the purpose of assisting children in CUSD 10. Their annual shoe event is funded through donations and their annual golf scramble.
Special thanks to Shoe Carnival Store Manager Erin Dietrich and Assistant Manager Ashley Staggs for assistance in ordering and stocking the shoes to ensure every child had a style choice; to Jack Schmitt Ford and staff for providing the location and volunteering to help fit the children.
