March 9, 2023 – Caseyville Elementary primary educational assistant Jennifer King was recognized today as February 2023 Kahok Educator of the Month. The award was presented by Caseyville Principal Chelsea Clark and Benjamin F. Edwards Representative Jason Rehg.
In her nomination of Jennifer King, Mrs. Clark wrote:
Mrs. King has been an instrumental addition to our kindergarten hallway and school family the past two years. Her ability to take initiative, help wherever is needed and build relationships with students does not go unnoticed. There are no words to express our daily appreciation for what she does at Caseyville Elementary.
The Caseyville kindergarten teachers shared “Things We Love About Mrs. King”:
Warm: She is kind and patient when helping students. Her soft voice and clam nature puts others at ease right away.
Generous: She gives every minute to the students, sometimes even giving up her lunch to help students who are having a hard time. She also jumps in at the last minute to substitute on days we run out of substitute teachers.
Supportive: She is always helpful with both the students and staff. She is a great listener and is great team member to be on your side in a crisis, or when we are celebrating.
Talent: She can sing, play instruments and entertain children of all ages.
Grace: She has empathy for struggling children and always approaches problems with no judgement, only help.
Sense of Humor: She gets joy out of those little silly things and she is fun to laugh with.
Wisdom: As an experienced teacher, as well as a mother, she has great advice and is helpful to problem solve with.
Benjamin F. Edwards Financial Advisor and Vice President/Investments Jason Rehg sponsors the award each month during the school year to recognize outstanding educators in Collinsville CUSD 10.
