September 29, 2022 – The 2022 C3 (Collinsville Community Collaboration) award recipients representing Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 have been announced. A Collinsville High School senior and the two teachers responsible for guiding the CUSD 10 KAHOKstrong community philanthropic endeavor have been selected to receive awards at the annual C3 Awards Night on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Collinsville’s Gateway Center.
CHS Social Students teacher Toni Geisen and Special Education teacher Jacob Post will receive the Stan Schaeffer Education Community Leadership Award for 2022. Geisen and Post have been the sponsors and faculty leaders of KAHOKstrong since its inception ten years ago. KAHOKstrong assists students, staff and families in the Collinsville CUSD 10 community during times of illness, need and tragedy; and provides scholarships to CHS graduates. To date, KAHOKstrong has provided nearly $100,000 of assistance to members of the school community in a variety of ways.
Destiny Thomas, a senior at Collinsville High School, will receive the Leader of Tomorrow Award. Destiny is the head drum major of the Marching Kahoks and a member of Symphonic Band. She is in the Drama Club and is responsible for light/sound technical support for CHS theater productions and school events. She is lauded by CHS faculty for her upbeat attitude, ability to mentor younger students and desire to make a positive impact on her school, community and fellow students.

The pre-dinner reception begins at 5:00 pm, followed at 6:15 by dinner and the awards presentation. Tickets are $35 each and go on sale October 3 using THIS LINK.
