March 29, 2022 – Collinsville CUSD 10 Young Authors winners were recognized at the district’s Young Authors Tea on March 29, 2022 in the Commons Area at Collinsville Middle School. Honorees and their guests enjoyed refreshments. Winners received certificates and goody bags.
Young Authors is an Illinois State Board of Education program sponsored by the Illinois Language and Literacy Council, in conjunction with the Illinois Reading Council. Young Authors celebrates exceptional writing by students in grades K through 8. Locally, the Young Authors competition is coordinated through Madison County Regional Office of Education (ROE) 41.
Winners will participate in the Madison County Young Authors Conference sponsored by ROE 41 on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Edwardsville High School. During the event, “students have the opportunity to share their books with each other, participate in reading/writing centric activities and be entertained by a local author, storyteller or performer.” (The 2022 Illinois Statewide Young Authors Conference has been cancelled.)
