CMS Attendance Information*

To  Report an Absence via Skyward:

Use the Skyward Family Access Portal to report an absence.  Follow these easy steps:  Skyward Family Access Absence Reporting Guide  OR proceed to manually report the absence as outlined below:

To Manually Report an Absence: 

The office number for reporting an absence is (618) 343-2100.

In order for an absence to be considered reported,* a parent or guardian is expected to notify the school by telephone between the hours of 7:45 A.M. and 9:30 A.M.

Please provide the following information:

• Name of the student who is going to be absent
• His/her grade
• Reason for the absence
• Phone number where the parent or guardian can be reached for verification

Failure to give proper notification to the school will result in an absence being considered unexcused.*

Request for Early Dismissal:

Early dismissals will be allowed only in necessary and reasonable situations where no other arrangements can be made.

A parent or guardian requesting an early dismissal must present a written request to the office before school starts. (This request may be sent with the student.)

The request must list:

• Full name of the student
• His/her homeroom
• Time for the dismissal
• Phone number where the parent/guardian can be contacted

In emergency cases, a parent/guardian phone call stating the name of the student, reason and time for dismissal, and a phone number where the parent/guardian can be contacted will be accepted.

At the time of dismissal the student must sign out in the office. If the student returns the same day, they must sign in at the office.
