Mrs. Nicole West

Nicole West is originally from Hickory, North Carolina. She graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University with a Bachelor's in History with a certificate to teach (9-12) and has a Master's Degree from Queens University of Charlotte in Educational Leadership. She taught Applied Economics, Civics and Economics, American History, World History, and Criminal Justice in Charlotte for four years. Ms. West has worked in Caldwell County Schools since 2010. She is the mother of four girls who have all attended Caldwell County Schools. They are currently 21, 16, 16, and 12.

With her family, Ms. West enjoys theater, concerts, new experiences, and exploring new places. She loves spending time outside, whether it be hiking, canoeing, kayaking, or even going to the beach. She loves creating new things from old treasures, building, painting, and accomplishing the impossible with DIY projects.

Ms. West is currently over testing and is teaching World History, Civics, and Economics. She believes that students should be responsible for their learning and that each student learns differently. All students should be challenged and should work outside of their "comfort zone" from time to time. Mrs. West believes that Social Studies classes should be about learning not memorizing.

"Our past may shape us, but it doesn't define who we become".
