This is my tenth year teaching visual arts at Hudson Elementary School.  I am a Caldwell County native and graduated from Hibriten High School before obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Art Education at Appalachian State University.  I recently achieved my National Board Certification in Early and Middle Childhood Art.  My family has a strong history of educators in Caldwell County, and I hope to continue their legacy. 

My personal artwork is concentrated in painting and ceramics, and I am eager to bring those strengths into the classroom.  I want to emphasize the connection between art and other disciplines through my lessons in order to further support students in their core academic subjects.  Recently, I have worked on creating integrated Wit & Wisdom Visual Arts lessons that help students relate to the art they are learning about with their classroom teachers. I also strive to promote technology in the art room and have created many lesson demonstrations for students to access through YouTube.
