Accountability and Testing

The testing program for Caldwell County Schools is directed by Leigh Anne Frye, Director of Assessment, Accountability & Research. All state tests administered are mandated by state law, the State Board of Education and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).
State Tests Administered are:
- Beginning of Grade 3 (BOG3) English Language Arts/Reading
- End of Grade Reading and Math - Grades 3 - 8
- Read to Achieve - Grade 3 (select students)
- End of Grade Science - Grades 5 & 8
- End of Course - High School English II, Biology, Math I, and Math III.
- NCEXTEND1-Alternate Assessment - Grades 3-11 (select students)
- Career and College Readiness Alternate Assessment Grade 10 (select students)
- Career and College Readiness Alternate Assessment Grade 11 (select students)
- WIDA Screener and WIDA ACCESS Placement Test (select students)
- Alternate ACCESS for ELLs (select students)
Additional Tests Administered are:
- CogAT (aptitude test) - Grade 4
- PreACT - Grade 10 (Fall)
- The ACT - Grade 11 (Spring)
- ACT Workkeys - Grade 12 (Fall and Spring-select students)
