Mrs. Tina Smith

Welcome!

I have lived in Caldwell County most of my life.  I spent 12 years at home raising children before submitting to the calling of education.  I began my career in education in 2004 working in special education as a one on one EC assistant. After a few years, I found myself working at Granite Falls Middle Schools as a media assistant. During this time I decided to go back to school and get my degree in Middle Grades education with a concentration in Math and Science. After graduating from Appalachian State University, I spent 10 years at Gamewell Middle School which gave me many great skills that I will value for the rest of my years as an educator.   As the 2023-2024 school year approached, I decided to return to Granite Falls Middle School where I now teach 7th grade math. I truly enjoy my career as an educator and can't imagine doing anything else!

Why I Became An Educator
My desire to become an educator came to me a little later in life after I became a mother. It was then that I realized how valuable a good education is and how a great teacher can positively influence a child's life.  I decided that I wanted to be one of the great educators who mold and create the future!  I wanted to be that educator so I became that educator!
