Welcome to my web page.  I would like to let you know a little about myself.  I am a National Board Certified Teacher, earned my undergraduate degree at East Carolina University, and my Master's degree at Appalachian State University.  

I have been married for 27 years to my husband, Keith, and I have two children (ages 17 and 22). I grew up in Caldwell County, and went to GFMS myself quite a few years ago!  I taught at GFMS for 6 years from 2005-2011, taught at Collettsville School from 2011-2022, and have been back at GFMS now for a year.  

This will be my 29th year teaching and I am still passionate about middle school.  In grades 6-8, young adolescents discover who they are.  They question everything, can be moody and hormonal, and value friendships.  Even though the middle grade years can be challenging, I feel honored to be part of shaping the people they are becoming.  I will work hard to ensure they learn academically, but I will also work to help students emotionally and socially during this developmental time.
