Other Items:
*Change of clothing (shirt, pants, underwear, socks)
*Sweatshirt to keep in the classroom
*Snacks- we will have a daily snack. We have a bin in the classroom, so you may send in snacks daily or weekly.
*Please let us know if your child will be purchasing breakfast or lunch from the cafeteria (either regularly or on occasion).
*Prize box- if you are cleaning out items in your house and come across little items that could be used in our prize box, we would greatly appreciate these as well. (Mc Donald’s toys, bouncy balls, stickers, etc.) Students earn “$.10” daily if they follow all of the classroom rules during the day. When they have reached $1.00, they turn it in and get to go shopping in our prize box. Through this, they learn accountability and it also reinforces basic math skills as they are exposed to counting by 5’s with nickels.
*Homework-your child will typically have some sort of homework daily to reinforce skills/lessons that they are working on at school. On Fridays, we send home a Weekend Sheet. Please help your child fill this out as to what they did, who they saw, etc. On Mondays, as part of our Social Skills, we have a sharing time where students will share what they did over the weekend. The students really look forward to this time and it reinforces important social skills that they are developing. To start the school year, we will be focusing on getting to know you activities, things students did over the summer, learning our school wide PBIS rules and expectations and the review and assessment of skills.
Again, if there are any issues/concerns that you want to discuss in regard to your child, please do not hesitate to contact me. We are fired up for an exciting new year!
