    Cox Mill Elementary first opened its doors to the students of Cabarrus County in Aug. 2002 with Dr. Colleen Sain as the principal.  Students from Weddington Hills Elementary and W. R. Odell Elementary moved in as the inaugural classes for Cox Mill.

     

    Since starting in 2002, the Cox Mill community has seen a tremendous change to the surrounding landscape.  Each year, we welcome many new neighbors as the southwestern portion of Cabarrus County continues to evolve and grow.  Over the years, the school has continued to educate wonderful students who have gone on to great successes!

     

    This year, we  will welcome 960 students to our community as we begin the school year.  We are preparing to embark on a journey around the globe as our teachers and students study the common core standards with a worldly perspective.  This year, we begin our 6th year with a Dual Language program in Mandarin.  As we start the year in full remote learning, we are amazed daily at the work of our students and teachers in this new environment.
