Principal: Mrs. Tara ButchWelcome to Rocky River Elementary School! I am excited to be a part of the Roadrunner community and look forward to getting to know each of you. I joined Cabarrus County Schools in 2012 as an Assistant Principal at Harris Road Middle School and most recently served as the Principal at R. Brown McAllister STEM Elementary School from 2016-2020. Prior to joining Cabarrus County Schools I taught at Davidson Elementary School in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and served as an Assistant Principal at Forestview High School in Gaston County. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Mount Union and my master’s degree from Gardner-Webb University. I am originally from Bellaire Ohio but have called North Carolina home for the last 17 years. I live in Concord with my husband, son and dogs. Some of my favorite things include sports (the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburg Steelers are my favorites), camping, reading, running and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to a great school year building relationships with our staff, students and families. Assistant Principal: Mrs. Elizabeth FosterI am very excited to join the Rocky River Family. I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, and the community while we work together to achieve student success. I joined Cabarrus County Schools in 2006 and have worked as a classroom teacher, lead teacher, and administrative intern at Concord and Hickory Ridge Middle Schools. I joined the leadership team at Central Cabarrus High School in 2014. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College and my master’s degree from Wingate University. I am originally from upstate New York and currently live in the Charlotte region with my husband, two boys, and sweet cat. I am looking forwarding to a wonderful school year.Assistant Principal: Mr. Andy RussellI am super excited to be a part of the Rocky River Family! I began my teaching career in 2006 as a Spanish teacher at Jay M. Robinson High School, where I also served as the Student Council Advisor. I transferred to Norwest Cabarrus High School in the Fall of 2011, and then to Mount Pleasant High School in the Spring of 2012 where I taught Spanish and served as the Student Council Advisor. I received my bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and my master's degree from Queens University of Charlotte. I was born and raised in Concord, NC and currently live in Kannapolis. Outside of school, I enjoy going to the gym, being outdoors, and spending time with my wife, two sons, and two dogs! I am looking forward to a fantastic year!
