Mrs. Danielle Baker

Let me begin by saying that I am excited about leading Cox Mill into 2023 and finishing the year strong! There are many new and exciting experiences in store for all of us!

This year, I start my 19th year in education.  I started the administrative portion of my career as the Assistant Principal at W.M. Irvin in 2015.  I moved to W.R. Odell as Assistant Principal in 2018.  I served as an Assistant Principal at W.R. Odell until March of 2022 when I became the Principal of Winget Park Elementary in Charlotte Mecklenburg.

Prior to administration, I was an elementary school teacher in Seminole county, Florida and in Charlotte Mecklenburg from 2004-2012.  I taught all grade levels at the elementary level (K- 5). From 2012-2015, I served as an academic and instructional coach for title one schools. I have spent my career in the elementary school and could not imagine a better life.  I love the time spent with children, families and educators as we inspire children to become anything they can imagine.

On a personal note, my family and I live in Cabarrus County. My daughter is a third grader in the dual immersion program at Furr Elementary school. She also keeps us busy with her competition dance schedule. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. We also have two dogs. One is very lazy and one is very active and keeps us on our toes.

I wholeheartedly believe that ALL students can learn at high levels, and it is my goal to ensure that our children continue to receive a quality education in an environment that is safe and nurturing every day.  I am committed to working in partnership with staff, families and the community to support our children to reach their maximum potential.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns. I look forward to meeting you!

Let's make it a great year for all! Go Comets!
