Mrs. Christy Clary

I am the School Social Worker for Mt. Pleasant Middle and Mt. Pleasant High schools.  I am excited to be starting my Eighth year with Cabarrus County schools for the 2022/2023 school year.   I have lived in North Carolina for over 30 years.  I received both my B.S. in Psychology and Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  I hope all of our students have a successful school year.  However, I realize sometimes things come up that can make it difficult for students and parents to put education first.  Now, more than ever, I know many students and families may be facing additional hardships that impact a student's ability to access and focus on their school work. I am here to help if there is a barrier to your child being as successful as he/she can be in school.  Below are some examples of reasons a student may be referred to the school social worker.

·        Family is going through a crisis

·        Attendance concerns

·        Financial assistance

·        Mental health or behavior concerns

·        To improve communication between home and school

·        Chronic health issues of a student or family member

·        Homelessness

·        Victim of abuse or neglect

·        Referrals to community resources needed

Students can be referred to the school social worker by teachers, counselors, administrators, parents or self.  Please contact me if your child and family need assistance.  I look forward to another great school year!
