    Good Morning Indian Nation,

As most of you are aware, Governor Reeves has issued a shelter in place order that will take effect Friday at 5 PM.  This order will affect some of our current school procedures. In our efforts to honor this order, we are canceling the Monday April 6 pick-up of paper packets.  We have moved the distribution date to Friday April 3 (tomorrow) between 2 – 4 PM at each home campus. This allows us to distribute next week’s paper packets before the shelter in place order takes effect.  If your child has not finished the work for this week’s packet, please do not stress. You may hold onto your current packet and continue working. Both packets can be returned after Spring Break. Please remember that paper packets only need to be picked up for those students that do not have access to Google Classroom.

For staff safety, staff members will not be answering telephones or working at physical school locations throughout the shelter in place order.  The best way to communicate with schools during this time is via e-mail. All staff are working from home and are available to answer questions and assist as needed.  All staff members have an e-mail format of firstname.lastname@biloxischools.net.

The feeding program will continue next week at the Gorenflo, North Bay, and Popps Ferry campuses with pickup times between 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM.  Feeding will take place Monday – Thursday of next week, but will not be available on Friday due to the scheduled holiday. Feeding will not be available during the Spring Break dates of April 13-17.

Please remember that all students should be actively working within Google Classroom or by utilizing the paper packets distributed weekly.  School is not closed and instruction is ongoing. A grading system is currently in development to apply to the work that students have completed and are completing.  Please ensure that your student is staying on task, completing assigned lessons, and engaging with their teachers daily. We will continue instructing and preparing students for the duration of physical school closures.

I encourage all to take the shelter in place order seriously and abide by these new restrictions.  If we all do our part, we can slow the spread of this virus and get back on the path to normalcy. If we continue with business as usual, we are extending the duration of this problem.  Together we can make a difference. Stay strong and stay safe Indian Nation.

    Thank you,

    Marcus Boudreaux
