Welcome Back to School!
I am excited to be your childs teacher this 2023-2024 school year. My name is Lori Prather, and I will be your childs 8th grade Math or 8th Grade AVID teacher. I have attached our 8th Grade Common Core Math syllabus for any questions on policies, procedures and expectations of passing 8th Grade Math.
This year I will continue to help your child become successful in Math & AVID. It is very important they are in class and working to their full potential to be successful. We will be working daily to increase math skills and preparing for their future in AVID. I am excited to see their growth both in Math and seeing them working on their future academic plans.

Communication is very important for your childs academic success. I check my email and texts daily. I will get back to you within 24 hours. Please encourage your child to come ask for help or if they have any questions or concerns. I am usually at school early and available before 8:00 a.m.

To know your child's current grade please look at Aeries. Aeries is updated weekly and will have your child's most current grade. Aeries does have an option for parents to be emailed weekly so parents can see their childs progress.
Google Classroom is our platform for assigning individual work, materials, and assessments.
