The New York State Health Department requires that Lead in the Water testing be completed every five years. MACS, in compliance with this requirement, hired an independent testing company and the BOCES Safety Officer to complete the lead testing for our buildings, as that student and staff health and safety is our number one priority. The District tested multiple locations at each building as noted on the results linked here. Samples were taken from locations that could potentially be used for drinking or cooking. First draw samples are collected and sent to a certified laboratory for analysis. Samples that come back above the action level of 15 parts per billion are taken out of service until remediation efforts are complete. These locations have been taken out of service. Remediation efforts are in process and access to water from these fixtures has been closed off. Once remediation is complete, we will retest the fixtures. Rest assured that all the remaining fixtures tested below the action level of 15ppb. Please note that the drinking fountains and bubblers were not used during the 2020-2021 year due to COVID-19. Please feel free to contact Mr. Mike Wood, Director of Facilities at extension 4630 with any questions.
