In the fall of 2007, the MACS Board of Education established the “Who is MACS” recognition program.  The publicity committee of board members Joseph Godfrey and Merrilee Gorton and Superintendent Nelson Bauersfeld wanted a way to publicly recognize people who represented the spirit of MACS.  Beginning with the first “Who is MACS” recipient Joy Kessler in November 2007, the tradition of celebrating “Who is MACS” has continued at each monthly Board of Education Meeting.  Beginning with the 2014 - 2015 school year the name was changed to "Proud to be MACS".
