Wednesday, Nov. 8, HS Auditorium, 6-8 p.m. - Last Day for Voter Registration is Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. in the Office of the District Clerk
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a qualified voter of the District shall vote only at the polling place for the election district in which such voter resides, and no person shall be entitled to vote at such election whose name does not appear on the Register of the School District. Registration of otherwise unregistered voters shall take place at the District Office, 16 Fravor Rd. Suite A, Mexico, New York, between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. on any day when school is in session up to but not later than 2:00 P.M. on December 7, 2023. Any resident whose name currently appears on said register or on the register of the Oswego County Board of Elections for permanent personal registration or who has voted in any annual or special election within the four calendar years preceding 2023 need not register. The vote upon the proposition to be submitted to the qualified voters shall be by paper ballots, and the District Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to have the necessary ballots printed in form corresponding as nearly as may be with the requirements of the Education Law.

Last day for Military Absentee Ballots are Nov. 16, 2023 by 5 p.m. - The vote is for (1) Capital Project Proposition Only (outlined below), no Board Candidate seats will be on this ballot (Open seats will be voted on in May 2024 with the budget)
PROPOSITION I - (Capital Project)
Shall the Board of Education undertake the reconstruction, renovation, and construction of improvements and upgrades to the Palermo Elementary School, New Haven Elementary School, Mexico Elementary School, Mexico Middle School, Mexico High School and the Bus Garage, including, but not limited to, HVAC replacements, window replacements, masonry restoration, security upgrades, select roof replacements, select paving replacement, interior and exterior improvements, certain electrical and water utility renovations, all to include original furnishings, fixtures and equipment, architectural fees, site improvements, and all other costs incidental to such work at a total estimated cost not to exceed $18,225,000, and obtain the necessary funds by (i) using $1,500,000 from the 2022 Capital Reserve approved by the District’s voters on May 17, 2022, (ii) using any available State building aid and (iii) to the extent necessary, the levy of a tax upon the taxable property of the School District to be collected in annual installments in the years and in the amounts as the Board of Education shall determine and in anticipation of such tax shall the School District be authorized to issue up to $16,725,000 of obligations of the School District and levy a tax to pay the interest thereon when due
Absentee Ballots - Qualified voters of the District may obtain applications for an absentee ballot from the office of the Clerk of the District. Completed applications must be received by the Clerk of the District no later than 4:00 p.m. on December 11, 2023, and must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on December 5, 2023, if the absentee ballot is to be mailed to the voter. Completed applications received after 4:00 p.m. on December 5, 2023, will require the voter to personally appear at the office of the Clerk of the District to receive an absentee ballot. A listing of all persons to whom an absentee ballot is issued will be available for inspection by any qualified voter in the office of the Clerk of the District between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. during each of the five business days prior to the election. - An application can be found via this link or on the right-hand side of this page.
