District responds to tragedy in the town of Salina

Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff,

Many of us woke up to the horrific news that two law enforcement officers were shot and killed while on duty last night in the town of Salina. We are devastated by this news and our hearts go out to the families of the fallen officers, fellow law enforcement officers, first responders and the community. As parents we often try to shield our children from devastating events, but sometimes that is impossible. The district’s Crisis Response Team will be providing support and counseling to students and staff as needed. We have resources on our website to help your child cope with grief and sadness. If you feel that your child needs additional support, please contact their school.
