Update on mask mandate from Superintendent Thomson on March 1, 2022
March 1, 2022
Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,
Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, March 2nd, masks are no longer required in any of our schools, district buildings or on our school buses. Staff or students who wish to wear a mask are encouraged to do so. I would like to reiterate the importance of respecting each individual's right to choose to mask or not.
Any individual who tests positive for COVID-19 is required to isolate for a minimum of 5 days. Release from isolation can occur on day 6 as long as symptoms are improving, no fever has occurred for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication, and a well-fitting mask is worn on day 6 through day 10. Masking on days 6 through 10 is not an option. Positive individuals refusing to mask will not be permitted to attend school through the end of day 10.
We are expecting further guidance in regards to physical distancing, quarantine requirements, testing, etc. I will update everyone as soon as I learn more information. Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding.
As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions, comments or concerns you may have. Have a good evening. All the best.
Respectfully yours,
Jason D. Thomson, Superintendent of Schools
