Christy Pavetto joins Board of Education

November 1, 2023

The Board of Education appointed Christy Pavetto to the vacant board seat at the board meeting on Monday, October 30, 2023.

Christy has worked in the field of education and business for the past 30 years and is currently a director in Population Health at Crouse Health. A fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, Christy has authored numerous publications including a text designed to educate healthcare professionals in transitional care. Christy’s baccalaureate degree in business administration and master’s degree in education allow her to understand both the core work and business of a school district.

In addition, she has led or participated on several non-profit boards. Christy was a member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation board of directors for seven years and served as board chair, board secretary, and chair of the human resources committee. She is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Greater Syracuse and served on that board as well, co-chairing the youth leadership program. Christy’s older son graduated from Ithaca College’s Park School of Communications and her younger son attended Baldwinsville Schools and graduated from LeMoyne College.

Christy previously served on the Baldwinsville Central School District Board of Education for six years and held the positions of Vice-President (2 years) and President.

The board seat was vacated by Anthony Germano who resigned in late September to pursue the Clay Town Justice position. The board had seven applicants for the position. The term for this Board of Education position will expire on May 21, 2024, the date of the annual school board elections. If the Christy wishes to continue in the position, she will need to run for a three-year term in the annual school board elections on May 21, 2024.
