COVID Test Kits Available on January 2, 2022

January 1, 2022

Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers:

The Baldwinsville Central School District has received its allotment of at home COVID-19 test kits from New York State. As Governor Hochul announced last week, the goal is for families to test asymptomatic students prior to their return to school following the holiday break. There is no requirement for families to test their children, but the kits are available to families who are interested in doing so.

To accomplish this, we have made arrangements for a drive-thru distribution of the at home test kits on Sunday, January 2nd from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at C.W. Baker High School located on the main campus at 29 E. Oneida St. One test kit will be distributed for each student currently enrolled. Please complete this brief form for EACH student you plan to pick up a test kit for. To help us best accommodate anticipated traffic during Sunday’s distribution, please enter the main campus through the Albert Palmer Lane entrance on of E. Oneida Street (near the old Transportation building on the Durgee side of campus).

We realize that not all interested families may be able to pick up a test kit on Sunday, given the holiday weekend and the short window for distribution. If you are unable to pick up a test kit on Sunday, but are interested in having one sent home with your child on Monday, January 3rd, please indicate as such on the form. If you have more than one child you would like a test kit sent home with, please complete the form for EACH child.

All requests must be submitted through the form provided by 12:00 noon on Sunday, January 2nd in order for our teams to make necessary arrangements. Please do not contact your child’s school to make additional requests. If the district is able to make arrangements for another distribution at a later date, we may be able to accommodate your request at that time.

As a reminder, families who utilize the kits are asked to report positive results directly to the Onondaga County Health Department’s at home test online submission portal. The school district will not be tracking or reporting results, though we ask that all isolation and quarantine requirements are followed.

Thank you for your continued support as we navigate the complications created by this pandemic. Wishing you a safe and Happy New Year. All the best.

Respectfully yours,
Mr. Jason D. Thomson
