Superintendent DeBarbieri's announcements for November 9, 2023

November 9, 2023

Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff,

The Positivity Project Character Strength for this week is bravery, which is acting with “mental, moral, or physical strength even when you know things are difficult or scary.” Our students exhibit bravery every day in our classrooms, and on the field, court and stage! I’m so proud of our Bees for pushing through fears and overcoming obstacles.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the veterans in our district for their bravery, dedication and service to our country. Our schools and district offices are closed tomorrow - Friday, November 10th in observance of Veterans Day. Thank you for your service and for being a role model of bravery!

I have a few announcements to share with you today:

  • The next Community Café is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6th at C.W. Baker High School in the cafeteria. The topic discussed will be Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The district is hosting the Community Café this year to bring together students, staff, parents and community members to discuss important topics impacting the school district. Guests will gather in small groups as we share ideas, perspectives and light refreshments. Registration is required. We hope you can join us as we explore questions that matter, build relationships and share our knowledge and ideas to help build, educate and empower our students! Visit our website for more information.
