South Colonie releases second episode in senior spotlight podcast series;  Highlights unique achievement

In continuation of this Senior Spotlight Mini Podcast Series CCHS senior and district communications intern Amanda Nusbaum sits down with senior Amber Elk. Continuing the series of senior students talking about their favorite teacher, to their favorite high school classes and more. Through their time at Colonie, they have learned what keeps them successful and are excited about what they have planned for after graduation.

Elk will be studying nursing and plans on becoming a nurse practitioner. She has been involved in numerous clubs such as Line ‘N Cue and other extracurricular activities with the Executive Club while at Colonie. Elk has been involved with programs such as The Career Exploration Internship Program, where she interned at Samaritan Hospital and The Horatio Alger Association, that awarded her with a national scholarship (find out more here).

During this episode, Elk explains how she has stayed involved with her high school community and the opportunities she has taken advantage of. She shares some of the faculty members who have motivated and helped her become successful in many different aspects of her educational career.
