South Colonie students represented Lisha Kill and Sand Creek middle schools at the annual Mathcounts Competition in February.
Each year, the Capital District Chapter of the National Mathcounts Foundation hosts a local competition for middle school math students at the GE Global Research Facility in Niskayuna. For the 32nd consecutive year, the chapter competition offered the best and brightest math students from our area the opportunity to put their math skills to the test in a fun and highly competitive academic environment.
This year, more 110 students from all over the Capital District, including 15 competitors from South Colonie, participated in the event. Although neither South Colonie team finished amongst the top two schools, all of our students should be extremely proud of their effort and the fantastic job they did representing themselves, their schools and our district.
