On June 15, South Colonie School District hosted its annual Elementary ENL Picnic, a vibrant celebration of the remarkable progress made by our English as a New Language (ENL) students.

“This year’s event provided an opportunity to recognize the dedication and achievements of our diverse student body,” shared South Colonie ENL teachers Briana Gualtieri, Sally Ward, Brie Marchese, Vanessa Mauriello, and Michelle Kovall.  “At the picnic our students were commended for their hard work, perseverance, and remarkable progress in acquiring English language proficiency. Through ongoing collaboration and engagement with our ENL families, we are confident that our students will continue to thrive academically, linguistically, and socially. ”

The event provided a well-deserved platform to recognize the outstanding achievements of our ENL students, acknowledging their unwavering determination in overcoming language barriers and embracing the challenges associated with learning a new language.

“It was a fun event and a way for us to connect with families,” Gualtieri added. “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our ENL students on their achievements and express gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of this memorable event. Together, we will continue to empower our students to embrace their unique identities and reach their full potential.”
