The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) presented the New SBO Leader of the Year Award to South Colonie’s Assistant Superintendent for Management Services and Strategic Planning Jacqlene McAllister. McAllister was recognized for her exemplary leadership and dedication to her profession during ASBO’s annual conference in Saratoga on Tuesday, June 6.
“It is an incredible honor to be nominated by our Superintendent and to receive the New SBO Leader of the Year Award from ASBO,” said McAllister as she stepped onstage to receive the award. “This award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire team at South Colonie. Under McAllister’s guidance, South Colonie has thrived in effectively managing its resources, ensuring fiscal responsibility and providing students with the best educational opportunities possible. Her visionary approach has resulted in the efficient financial practices earning community support for the highest capital project referendum in South Colonie history —resulting in— $120 million in planned improvements to South Colonie schools.
