Our good neighbors at the Red-Kap Mobil (corner of Osborne and Albany-Shaker Roads) are helping Shaker Road Elementary School to earn another Exxon-Mobil Educational Alliance grant this school year. Shaker Road applies for the $500 grant annually and has been fortunate enough to receive one several times. That is primarily due to the effort and generosity of Red-Kap’s Jon Kaplan and we are grateful.
Using this grant in the past has helped us to purchase LEGO robots, STEM kits, Courtyard supplies and other items that our Shaker Road students use to hone their STEM skills. As STEM and STEAM initiatives continue to work their way down the district to the K-4 level, the exposure to new challenges that we get from support like this can make a big difference.
