The English as a New Language (ENL) students at Shaker Road Elementary School celebrated the start of the Chinese and Vietnamese New Year with a festive parade around the school. This year, 2020, is the Year of the Rat. In preparation for this event, students enjoyed making rat puppets and decorations as well as red lanterns. Many students wore traditional Chinese and Vietnamese clothing while others participated by wearing red, playing noise making instruments and carrying special crafts made for the holiday.
