Monday, Oct. 17 marks the beginning of School Board Recognition Week, a week-long celebration that promotes the awareness and understanding of the important work performed by school board members. The South Colonie Central School District is joining all public school districts across the state to celebrate School Board Recognition Week to honor local board members for their commitment and dedication to the South Colonie school community.
“South Colonie board members are the heart of our district. “ said Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry. “Our board members devote countless hours supporting our students and working through issues that impact the educational experience for our students and staff. It takes strong schools to build a strong community, and I am honored to work alongside our school board leadership who are committed to making sure our schools are helping every child learn at their greatest potential.”
In celebration of this week, the South Colonie School District would like to recognize the following individuals for their service to the school community:

- Stephanie Cogan, Vice President, four years of service
- Rose Gigliello, 10 years of service
- Mike Keane, three years of service
- David Kiehle, 13 years of service
- Chris Larrabee, two years of service
- Bob Messick, two years of service
- James “Tim” Ryan, 28 years of service
