Sand Creek Middle School was the recipient of surplus books from the Library of Congress on March 1. In coordination with Rep. Paul Tonko’s office, Sand Creek received the books for the library and students had an opportunity to meet the Congressman. Rep. Tonko addressed students from Mr. Morgan and Ms. Rowland’s classes, along with several 7th and 8th graders from Student Council and social studies. Students had some compelling questions for the Congressman concerning the committees he was on, global warming, and what kind of pets he has. He has two very pampered cats! It was a great opportunity for our students to meet their Washington representative from the 20th district of New York.
