Lisha Kill faculty and staff members came together to support the Northeast Regional Food Bank, a local nonprofit organization that has been helping to feed the poor and hungry in our local communities since 1982.
Twenty-three staff and their family members gathered at the Patroon Land Farm to plant crops. By growing this produce, the Food Bank is able to fulfill the Patroon Land Foundation’s mission. This unique mission is to preserve the property as farmland and cultivate the land to grow and distribute produce, or the income from the sale of such produce, to feed the poor and hungry.
“It is more important than ever for our community to come together and support vital organizations like the Northeast Regional Food Bank,” said Susan Campbell Lisha Kill staff member and organizer for the event. “It was such a beautiful and fun morning with my colleagues.”
