South Colonie iCARE hosted its first 5K, Hustle for Hope, on Oct. 26, and raised nearly $1,000 to support iCARE’s local community partner this year, Northern Rivers. Northern Rivers is a not-for-profit organization that works to help community members who are struggling with mental health issues.

iCARE is grateful to those who came out to support Hustle for Hope. With the help of community members we were able to create conversations and spread awareness. Special thank you to Northern Rivers, CEO, Bill Gettman and Northern Rivers, Director of Development, Stephanie Douglas for attending the event and for sharing information and resources with the community. Another special thank you to Town of Colonie Supervisor, Paula Mahan, for starting the race. Additionally, thank you to Laura Archambault and to the Crossings staff for all of their help. Perhaps most noteworthy of all were the 30-plus student volunteers who joined us on a chilly October morning to put into action more than 30 hours of planning and preparation.
