A Girls Varsity Swimming program has been added to the Colonie Central High School sports offerings for the 2019 Fall Girls Swimming season.
Colonie will merge with Schenectady High School under the name Schenectady/Colonie Girls Swimming Team. This is a varsity program open to all high school age swimmers. No prior swimming experience is needed.
Girls Varsity Section II swim teams include Niskayuna, Albany Academy, Burnt Hills-Scotia, Shenendehowa, Bethlehem, Saratoga Springs, Mohonasen-Schalmont, Ballston Spa, Albany, Guilderland-Voorheesville, Shaker, Hudson Falls-South Glens Falls, Queensbury, Glens Falls, Emma Willard, Fonda-Johnstown, Gloversville-Mayfield, Duanesburg-BKW, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, Troy, Amsterdam, Holy Names, and Averill Park.
If you are interested in joining the program and have not already signed up in the high school Health Office, please do so before the end of the school year.
The team will practice daily at Schenectady High School with transportation being provided to and from practice by South Colonie Transportation. For more information on summer swimming opportunities at the Schenectady High School pool, please email Athletic Director Joseph Guardino for a schedule.
