“We are really looking forward to the show this year,” said CCHS automotive technology teacher Christopher Hanley.

Career and technical education programs like the automotive program at CCHS provide students with access to gain real-world experience by working and servicing engines. Throughout the program, students work on small engines of lawn mowers donated by community members as well as actual vehicles that are brought to class for servicing and repair.

After more than two decades working with students in the automotive technology program at the CCHS Hanley is slated to retire at the end of this school year.

I would like to address the parents and students of South Colonie for allowing me to be a part of their lives for the last 24 years,” said Hanley.  “How does one show gratitude for the trust and support? Words fall short but they are all that I have. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

“Mr. Hanley will be missed at CCHS,” said executive principal Thomas Kachadurian.  “The annual car show has been a great reflection of his work and a culminating event of a passion he holds so deeply with his students and the automotive field.”

This year’s show will showcase a variety of automobiles. For more information, please contact Chris Hanley at hanleyc@scolonie.org.
