Colonie High School seniors named Commended Student in the 2023 National Merit® Scholarship Program

Colonie Central High School students Hailey Lotz and Lucas Bomba have been named a Commended Student in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program.  A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented to Lotz and Bomba.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Although they will not continue in the 2023 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).

“We are proud to recognize both Hailey and Lucas for their outstanding pursuit of academic success,” said Colonie High School Principal Kachadurian. “Students being recognized for their academic accomplishments is an integral part of advancing educational excellence.  I hope that this recognition will encourage Hailey, Lucas and other students to continue working hard and pursuing their academic goals.”
