CCHS students recognized for scouting achievements

On Tuesday, April 12, three CCHS Boy Scouts students were recognized by the South Colonie Board of Education for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. CCHS Senior Aiden Drebitko, CCHS Junior Justin Ault and CCHS Senior Trent Stone were recognized by Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry and Board of Education President Rose Gigliello with certificates commemorating their service and dedication to our community. Becoming an Eagle Scout is no easy accomplishment, with only five percent of ALL scouts in the nationwide organization achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. In addition, three additional CCHS students were recognized for achieving the Girl Scout Gold Award. To be considered for this achievement, participating high school Girls Scouts must complete a minimum of 80 hours on a Take Action Project that solves the root cause of an issue they observed in their community/nation. CCHS students Destiny Schanz (Junior), Autumn Schanz (Junior) and Kathryn Taleporos (Senior) were recognized for this special honor. To learn more about this recognition, click here.
