“Becoming an Eagle Scout is more than just achieving a special recognition,” said Stone. “It’s a positive pathway and finalization of all of the important community-based projects coming into focus. I’m proud to be a part of that process while assisting others in my community and beyond.”

During the remainder of the 2021-22 school year, CCHS Senior Trent Stone will be working towards the final project to officially complete his Eagle Scout commendation. As part of that effort, Mr. Stone will be collecting used and unused glasses and hearing aids for a project aimed to raise support for the Albany and Troy Lions Club mission to provide sight and hearing for local families and individuals in third-world countries. He’s currently a member of Troop 1278 located in the Village of Colonie.

The project is one of the final steps for Mr. Stone to secure his final scouting achievement, becoming an Eagle Scout. He will need to present the project to the national board of the Boy Scouts of America in the coming months. Becoming an Eagle Scout is no easy accomplishment, with only 8% of ALL scouts in the nationwide organization achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in 2019.
