The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame has named Colonie Central High School senior football lineman Tyler Briggs as the Colonie Scholar-Athlete for 2017.
Each year, the NFF hosts a dinner honoring 60 high school and college scholar-athletes from throughout the Capital District. This year’s Scholar-Athlete Recognition dinner was held on March 5. From the group of 60 athletes, the NFF Executive Committee then selects 11 overall award winners from the high school nominees and one overall winner at the college level.
Congratulations to Briggs for his accomplishments both in the classroom and on the football field. Through his diligence and hard work, this recognition as a scholar-athlete serves as a tremendous source of pride for the entire South Colonie community. Well done Tyler!
