Women’s History Month is a national celebration of the achievements of accomplished and courageous women in history, culture and society and has been observed annually in the US during the month of March since 1987.
In honor of this year’s theme “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories,” chosen by the National Women’s History Alliance, we are proud to highlight just a few of the incredible women who are making a difference at South Colonie by telling their unique stories.
Last but not least in our women’s history month mini-podcast series is Anjelieeque Martinez. Martinez is the business administrator and district treasurer for the South Colonie Central School District.
In 2000, Martinez began her career at South Colonie as the district treasurer with her role evolving over the years. She now serves as the business administrator and district treasurer for the school district overseeing seven professionals working at the district office.
Not knowing that she would end up in the educational field working for a
school district, Martinez still highly values the educational journey and credits her success to her background in accounting. She also strongly believes that younger females trying should go to school, pursue their education, find out who they are and always stay true to themselves.
