Landon Wood: Senior Spotlight Class of 2022
Help us congratulate, Landon Wood, the son of Marilyn and David Wood, our next Senior Spotlight!
Landon's funniest memory at Putnam goes back to Middle School. He was in 7th grade, playing in the championship basketball game, and he scored in the wrong hoop. He says, "it wasn't funny to me at the time, but when I look back now, I can laugh...pretty hard."
You can still find Landon on the basketball court. Tonight, he and his teammates, coaches, and many fans travel to Hannibal, MO, to cheer on the Midgets in Sectional play. Landon's favorite accomplishments so far have been winning District Basketball Championship, making it to State in DECA competition, and scoring his 1000th point. Winning the District Basketball title for the first time in a decade was definitely one of Landon's most memorable moments in high school so far.
Landon's advice to freshmen would be to "make the most of your time in high school because it flies by."
His favorite class in high school was advertising with Mrs. Fitzpatrick. "We were always having fun and making new memories."
Landon's favorite quote is, "Seek respect, not attention. It lasts longer."
After graduation, Landon plans to attend State Tech and earn his degree in Turf Management. He would like to be working at a golf course or baseball stadium in the next 5-10 years.
Landon tells us, "Mr. Fleshman has had the biggest impact on me at school because he has coached me for 4 years and always pushes me to do my best."
Congratulations, Landon! We are #PutnamProud of you!
