Encouraging Words for Girls Group
The 4th-grade girls' group has been eating lunch on Wednesdays for the past 7 weeks. The girls' group is called WONDERFULLY MADE and the goal is to provide an opportunity for students to improve self-esteem, explore their unique strengths and reframe negative thoughts. This week we had three senior high girls join us for lunch, Kora B., Claire T.,and Grace S.
These high school girls are positive role models and are very encouraging to the girls. Claire, Grace, and Kora shared with the 4th-grade girls about topics such as how to handle peer conflict and to be proactive in communicating and feeling better about themselves. Claire told the girls that they are strong and this is how they were created and to be grateful for their bodies. Grace reminded the girls that they may be stronger than the boys at this age and to never let anyone talk you out of playing a sport or trying your best.
Thank you to the high school girls for making time for the 4th-graders. It was a very special lunch and will be remembered for a long time to come.
