Carla Thompson, a nurse at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, shows a pig's heart to third graders recently at Wilson Elementary. The activity is part of Heart Power, a program for third graders in Ottumwa Schools that helps students understand the importance of having a healthy heart. The program presents four topics to students throughout the year, including the heart, tobacco, exercise, and nutrition.
