Girls entering grades 5-8 will have the opportunity to participate in a basketball skill-building camp this summer.
Ottumwa Girls Youth Basketball will provide a fun atmosphere for girls to learn the fundamentals of
basketball. Participants will receive instruction from Ottumwa High School coaches and players on
ball handling, form shooting, rebounding, and defensive skills. Girls will be divided into groups that
fit their ability level. Each week they will be taught skills that will progress throughout the
camp. The girls will participate in games, drills, and friendly competitions each week. This camp is
available for any girl enrolled in the Ottumwa Community School District entering grades 5-8 in
the fall.
Dates
- Session 1: Evans Middle School 6-7:30 p.m. - Wednesdays in June: 9, 16, 23, 30
- Session 2: Evans Middle School 6-7:30 p .m. - Wednesdays in July 7, 14, 21, 28
Fees and Registration
All girls who sign up for BOTH sessions will receive a free basketball!
- Session 1 - $30
- Session 2 - $30
- Register 2 kids - Child #1 - $30/$60, Child #2 - $25/$50
- Register 3 kids - Child #1 - $30/$60, Child #2 - $25/$50, Child #3 - $20/$40
Registration must be turned into Coach VandenBerg by May 28. Forms can be delivered to Evans Middle School or mailed to 627 Edwards Dr., Ottumwa, IA 52501. Please make check payable to Ottumwa Youth Basketball.
