Latino Festival a Success

Wilson Elementary raised over $2,600 after a Latin Festival was held over the weekend. Activities during the event included:  games, a selfie booth, Latin food, face painting, video games, a bounce house, craft table, and dancing with Sonido Vibrasion (DJ Russo). Proceeds from the event will support efforts to purchase a new playground for the school. "The Latin Festival was a great demonstration of how one person can make a difference," said Principal Jeff Hendred. "One former parent at Wilson approached me to ask if the school could host a Latin Festival to raise funds for the playground. That one parent's idea became a reality on September 10 and a great benefit to the school as it moved us over the $10,000 mark in our fundraising efforts."
